Experimental Studies of Autonomous Sailing With a Radio Controlled Sailboat

Autonomous sailing has attracted many interests from both industry and academy due to its great potential in oceanography, research education. Worldwide researchers have developed various kinds of unmanned sailboat platforms for their specific purposes applications. However, most these autonomous are rather complex build program. The aim this study is propose, build, test a new compact platform using unique combination 1-m class radio controlled model sailboat, Raspberry Pi 4, Navio2, Calypso ultrasonic solar-powered anemometer. proposed makes full use the agility racing boat with minimal mechanical adjustments as system does not electrical wires connect additional sensors software architecture also simplified it involves only Python programming 4. experimental results demonstrated feasibility well functionality conduct operations successfully could become one accessible, generic flexible advanced education robotics, systems, artificial intelligence.
